I keep hearing people complain (not around here lately though) about lack of real mode DOS support in ME and how they can't do this and that. The last one I heard the other day was from a person who complained that they had to format and re-install because they screwed up their registry to the point of not being able to get into safe mode to do a system restore. Well, I told him, why didn't you run scanreg/restore. Well did I get bitched out about how Microsoft took that away from him and that you can't do that anymore. While he was flaming away about it, I booted his computer from his ME CD to a DOS prompt without CD support. Then switched to C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND and ran SCANREG/RESTORE. All I heard after that was a very stupid sounding "How'd ya do that?"

Moral: Think before you flame.... I know, that's asking a lot of customers now isn't it.
