Click Start, point to Programs, and then point to Accessories.
Right-click Windows Explorer, and then click Properties. In the Target box, replace the current text with the following text: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} Click OK. |

wow, that's a long string of numbers, I can't begin to imagine how you figured that out.
Is there a way to get it to start in whatever directory you want? |

There is, but I can't remember how to do it now...something about Explorer.scf and it's contents.

I found a much simpler way. When I install Windows, I noticed that there is more than one explorerer.* file. One of these files is Explorer.scf. This file is already set up to open your Windows Explorer from the C:, instead of the My Documents folder. Just create a shortcut to this. Being that I use my keyboard shortcut keys to assign Windows Explorer, I just assign this shortcut to a key and then ignore all the others. I just press a key and viola, I'm there. I hope this helps you all as well.
