Recovering lost pictures
My daughter took 60 pictures on a 64Mb Smart Media card while at camp as a counselor. When we tried to download them to her laptop or thru my Dazzle reader, the files showed up as jpg files, but neither comp would show the pics or allow moving to a file. Contacted Olympus via email and was told the Camera will only support 32Mb card and then only after the Camera has been sent in for modification. The weird part was the pics were viewable on the camera lcd. Found a professional digital photo forum on the web and joined up. Searched their threads and Voila! Found software called Photo Recue that offers a demo version to verify that it can recover the pics and if it can, full version costs $29. Bought it last nite and was able to recover all the photos. Daughter is smiling again. This software will even recover pics from discs that have been reformatted. The only way a pic is gone forever is if you write over it apparently. If you need it, here's a link
