Alt tab question

Hi all, I have a couple of questions. When playing games and I alt+tab to go to the desk top, my mouse pointer will not show up. Is there a tweak or change I can make to get this to work? I am running windows xp home if that helps. Also, I just did a fresh reinstall of windows xp, I have a hotmail and passport account already set up, I can get to my e-mail and other stuff, but msn messenger will not let me sign in to use messenger, any suggestions? Had this same problem in 6 different games.
Not sure why this resolved it, but I changed the screen resolution in the games to be different than my desktop resolution and poof, problem solved.

I cannot remember who offered up this tid-bit of info but I do believe it was in these forums that I found that solution...
So, kudos to whomever originally solved this.


Oh, and for the messenger problem, Microsoft released an update that disabled messenger. Depending on what updates you've installed since the fresh install, this may be one of them. Check it out, you may just need to enable it again.

Thanks FalconFan, I'll give it a try. The game in particular is BF1942 and I do believe that I have the resolutiion set the same in game as my desktop, so I'll change it and see what happens. Thanks, ss21

Hi, well, I tried changing the resolution of the game to be different than the desktop, but no change. I still can't get my mouse pointer to show up when I alt+tab in BF1942. By the way, I am trying to get to the desktop from the options screen, not in game. Thanks, ssoza21
