Feedback Requested

Hello members!

First of all, I hope you guys are enjoying all the new stuff that we’ve been posting here to the Premium section. So far, the feedback I’ve been getting from members has been great.

But, I wanted to put out a request for feedback today. I have questions like:

  • Do you have any specific content you would like for us to tackle in the future?
  • If we could show you how to do one thing with your computer, the Internet, etc – what would it be?

Let me know, guys. Just use the Contact form above and send your feedback to us. Thanks so much!

Your videos are great, but some of us do not have broadband available. It takes about 20 minutes for me to download a five minute video with my dial up connection. Is it possible for you to make available transcripts of your videos sometime in the future? Thanks for listening.
    Sincerely,
    DR Walling

I have been doing a lot of research into saving money with things like voip, virtual servers, and linux routers and such in relation to business. What other ways can we use technology to save money?
If you could show me one thing: Setting up client/server networks from scratch with Windows and/or open source.

Your swearing on videos does not contribute to the communication process and lowers your credibility and professionalism.

I’d like to know the best source for info on creating my blog and being able to customize it myself. I purchased Thesis last week and did so because I love the look of it and the fact that it is so customizable and they boast about having great support. I still can’t find the simple ABC’s of how to get my blog going. Their manual and forums seem to be focused on people who already know how to create blogs from scratch. I’m a beginner at all this and I’d love to have a simple, clear sourcebook to teach me.

Just a question, might be obvious to others but not to me. How does Craigs List make any money or support their activity?

    Keep up the good work.

I just used your “how to build a computer” to build my new computer. Thanks the info. was a real help. I encountered 1 problem and wondered if someone can help me find a solution? I have 2 SATA hard drives on the new computer. They both are recognized in the BIOS and in the device manager, but second drive will not show up when I click My Computer. I tried removing this one from the device manager and restarting the computer, but it still isn’t recognized. Any suggestions?

I am also new at this stuff, I love and hope to head my new career toward Information Tech in hardware support. But now the hard part I was hoping Linux was more user friendly. I bought a HP laptop w/ Linux and it does nothing but come on it does not load programs take the internet protocal or nothing. I have gotten pass the root pass word but for what. I have a plan to dual install a windows 7 OS but want to wait to see if is all it crack up to be. any pointers would be great.

I think that this needs some new direction Dave. The nine comments go from March till June on the latest announcement of Feb 23. In ten short days we will be looking at November. Perhaps a couple of new ones would spark some enthusiasm

I know something that I would like explained. When I read many of the articles on “how-to” topics about computer programs, the articles frequently are accompanied by images of the different popup screens that look exactly like you see them in their respective program applications. Is there an easy way to copy these screen shots and then put them into your articles, or is there some intermediate image editing going on? And is it dependent on the type of text editor you use to create the article in the first place?

I joined PC Mech a few months ago. It is great. In fact, it’s got so much good content it makes me feel like a kid in a candy factory.
I know now, whether or not I am logged in, but if I had one thing to ask you it would be that somehow after logging in if the top of the screens would allow one to see something like one’s name or something so that on a glance (or a scroll) to the top one would know if logged in or not.
Perhaps I am missing something, and since I am fairly new in this mecca of great stuff, I very well could be, but thought I would throw that in anyway.
To: David and all — Thanks – Here is a great place to be!!

I’d like to see a list of apps for iPhone/iPod-Touch that are considered very useful. I am new to Apple products, the iPod Touch being my first, and I am way behind the curve on Apple-Space. I tried a few googles but I want to know what is considered worthwhile by those in the know, not just by who can SEO the best. Thanks.

Do you ever answer any of the above questions? They are asked openly so replies should be open as they would help everyone.
I am slightly peeved to see that much of your content is about becoming an online entrepreneur, web guru, punter robber. I set my stall out to become a hobbyist computer tech as it has more credibility than being a wannabe millionaire.
