You hear a lot about blogging not only from us but from the internet in general. Whether it’s for personal or business use, writing about what you know gains you things that you simply can’t do with social networking.
For example, Google loves blogs. It routinely spiders the internet for anyone who authors a site routinely and gets you listed in the search engines fast. With social media sites like MySpace and Facebook the traffic simply isn’t as good, and not by a long shot.
Said bluntly, if you want a stupidly easy way to have a site get noticed fast, run a blog.
I routinely tell people who want to get a web site of their own to start a blog. Why? Because it’s easy. I also tell these same people to use WordPress.com for the following reasons:
1. Tons of features in the free version.
The free version allows you to have 35 separate authors for a single blog. So if you wanted to start a “team” site, WordPress is it.
You get 3GB of space. Does that sound small? It isn’t. Most web host providers (as in the decent ones) charge at least $15 a month for just 2GB with a hosting package.
There is never any worry about upgrading your system software, ever. This is all taken care of for you.
Site stats are built in.
The servers which WordPress uses are guaranteed to be faster than any budget web host you could find, period.
2. Paid options that are actually worth the cash.
So you want a www.your-site.com. A WordPress.com blog allows you to get this for 10 “credits” (around $20 to $25) per year. You simply can’t beat the price.
3. There’s nothing else that can touch it.
Super-fast servers, reliability, easy interface… the list goes on and on.
The only other service that even comes close is TypePad, but you’ll spend way more for that and not even get all the features WordPress has. Furthermore they only have a “trial” edition that expires. With traditional web hosting it’s too easy to spend even more than you would with TypePad. With WordPress you can opt to stay totally free if you like.
Yes, I know I sound like a sales pitch. I totally understand that. But I cannot emphasize enough how important ease-of-use and features are. WordPress has it; nothing else comes close. I literally have to preach this over and over to get it thru people’s heads: USE WORDPRESS!
I get no kickbacks by giving you this information. I tell you this because the software works. PCMech and its Premium system that you’re reading now are WordPress powered. My personal blog is WordPress powered. We trust this software – and that’s saying a lot. There are tons of reasons we use it, with the biggest one being it just gets the job done right the first time. Count on it.

I just got done setting up. Now I’ve got no more excuses!
Your “pitch” is perfect and totally true. It was too easy!
Thanks Rich
