    Rich,

    Can you really consider that a throw-away email address? What signifies a throw-away email address is the ability to stop receiving mail at that address. If you sign up for a one time service where you don’t want to keep receiving emails, using this method you will still get them.

    The only way to make this a throw away is to create a rule for the incoming +word part of the address that deletes the email automatically upon arrival. But, then you’re not really stopping the email, you are still forcing Gmail to have to process it in some way, instead of a nice clean NDR for a non-existent address.
