Opera 10 Web Browser Review And Features

Opera 10 is here, as in really here, meaning official release and out of beta. Some things I like about it but there are some rather annoying problems with it. Even so, it is a distinct improvement over Opera 9 and can honestly say that yes, speed-wise it kicks the crap out of Firefox and Internet Explorer. That alone is a huge sell. Opera Link and widget extensibility make it beat the crap out of Google Chrome.

To note, the problems I mention with the browser are minor at best, but still should be noted nonetheless. Unfortunately Opera 10 isn’t enough to sway me away from Firefox, but I’m definitely keeping it on my system because I love the speed of it that much. See video for details.

UPDATE: I found a way to modify/remove Custom Search settings in Opera 10. I mention in the video there was no way to do this. This is incorrect. The way to do it is by doing the following:

  1. Click Tools
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click Search

You will find your Custom Searches there and can edit/remove from that point.

I can’t get the video to run. I’m running Vista SP2 in Boot Camp on an iMac 24″. Is there some software I need to run your videos?

All that’s required is the latest version of the Flash player. You may encounter difficulties if running 64-bit edition however as the Flash player does have some issues in a 64-bit Windows environment.
