I smoke cigarettes. And I hate it.
For several years I have tried just about every method you can think of to quit. The patch, gum, going “cold turkey”, you name it and I’ve probably done it.
The single largest problem with anti-smoking solutions is that while all of them target the nicotine addiction, none of them target the psychological addiction. What I’m referring to there is the actual act of smoking. Holding the cigarette in your hand, the inhale/exhale process, and so on.
Quitting smoking is more about giving up the act of smoking rather than the actual nicotine addiction.
Some of you might have heard about e-cigarettes. These are electronic devices that use a battery, atomizer and a cartridge to simulate smoking without any of the harmful smoke effects.
For a while now I had been searching for an e-cigarette that is non-nicotine based, as in one that provides the act of smoking with no nicotine in them whatsoever.
I finally found one, and it’s called blucigs. Yesterday I placed my order for a starter kit. It should arrive next week.
So what does this have to do with using your computer at all? Well, believe it or not, one of the methods to charge the battery is via USB. It sounds funny but it’s true. All the details on how it works are here: http://www.blucigs.com/how-it-works. It’s actually quite technical.
The best part about blucigs is that they offer several types on cartridges, including ones that have no nicotine in them whatsoever.
Said honestly, I have no idea what type of experience this will be, but it’s worth the $59.95 for the starter kit to at least try it. This is as far as I know the only way to truly smoke at a reasonable price with no actual nicotine involved. In addition, there is a 30-day money back guarantee on it anyway, so if it doesn’t live up to expectation I can simply return it.
If you or someone you love smokes, I’d recommend e-cigarettes to them, and particularly recommend blu. They even have a toll-free number you can call. My father (who is 75 and is looking to quit just like I am) called them yesterday and said they were a pleasure to speak with. No sales pitches or “hardball” talk involved. He plans on getting a starter kit as well.
When the product arrives I will be writing another post on it describing the experience. This is a piece of technology that for me is very new and exciting.
And the fact the tip lights up in blue is just plain cool.
