The Easiest Ways To Use A Throwaway Email Address

If you’re like most people, you have a primary email account for banking, close friends and family, and the other for everything else.

There may be instances where you’d like a simple, quick and instant throwaway email address you can use without having to sign up for anything or use any alternate email accounts.

Here are the two fastest ways to do it:

Gmail

Gmail has had the ability for a long time to create throwaway email addresses instantly. All you have to do is add a plus sign and any name you want, and it will work.

For example, if your email address is YourName@gmail.com, if you used YourName+AnyNameHere@gmail.com, it will work. The number of names you can create is infinite.

Mailinator

This mail service is so easy to use that it actually confuses people. All you do is go to the site, type in [any name here]@mailinator.com, and you read the mail. That’s it. No signup. No registration required.

To see it in action for yourself, compose an email to a Mailinator address, such as Testing12345@mailinator.com. Go to Mailinator, physically type in that email address in the box on the left, and you’ll see the mail you sent there.

Mailinator has several domains you can use, such as binkmail.com or zippymail.info. Instead of using the mailinator.com domain, use the alternate domain instead. You’ll see a random alternate domain you can use on the Mailinator site on the left sidebar. A list of all the mail domains you can use is here.

The site is even so smart that if you can’t think up a random throwaway email address, it will make one up for you. Again, look to the left sidebar where it states, “Can’t think up an Address?”, and use that one.

Any email sent to a Mailinator email address can be deleted by you after you’re done using it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Don’t use generic names like “john” or “jane” or “dave”, because remember, anyone that types in that name at Mailinator can see what’s coming into the account. Pick a random name that only you would use for your temporary throwaway.
