There are certain instances when you need to crop an image to 16:9. If you’re looking to place an image on a television or cell phone, the vast majority of them have a 16:9 ratio, so placing an image with that ratio will fit just right every time.
Windows Photo Gallery, a free program in the Windows Essentials suite, fortunately makes this stupidly easy to do.
Load up Windows Photo Gallery and load in your image.
Click Crop, Proportion, Widescreen (16×9)
Resize the box to what you want displayed in the final image.
Click Crop again; the image is cropped.
Close the program, the image is saved with the new dimensions.
That’s all there is to it. Retrieve the image file and upload where you wish.
