New versions of Android are released all the time, and while most of them aren’t major updates, it’s still important to keep up with these new releases for things like security purposes. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to check if you have the latest version of Android, or if your phone needs to be updated. Here’s how.

  1. Head to the “Settings” app.settings
  2. Scroll down to “About phone” at the bottom of the options available. Here you can see which version of Android your device has, which will be under the “Android version” heading. To see if you have any updates to install, keep following these steps.about
  3. Press on “System updates.
  4. If there isn’t an option to install an update, press on “check for updates” in the bottom left of the screen. The phone should check, and then either tell you that your phone is up to date, with the time that you checked, or offer you an update to download and install.

It’s really that easy, but it can mean a world of difference for how you use your phone, especially if there’s a major update available.
