There’s a lot you can tweak inside the Windows 10 Settings app, the Registry editor and the Group Policy editor to make things run a bit more smoothly, but those aren’t always great to mess with, particularly for beginners. That’s why Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 is such a great tool, as it provides a clean user interface for almost anyone to tweak settings to make their PC run faster without ever having to dig through the Registry or Group Policy editor.
Be sure to follow along, and we’ll show you how to use it!
Getting Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 Setup
Ultimate Windows Tweaker has been around for awhile, but version 4 has specifically been designed for Windows 10.
To get started, you’ll need to download Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4. You can grab it for free here. Keep in mind that since Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 was specifically designed for Windows 10, it’s not going to work properly on previous versions. Windows 7 and Vista users should use version 2.2 while Windows 8 and 8.1 users should use version 3.
Once you have it downloaded, you’ll need to extract its contents to a desired location on your computer. Once you’ve done that, you should be ready to start using it.
Using Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4
Before you get started tweaking Windows 10, Ultimate Windows Tweaker recommends that you create a Restore Point. Microsoft has a great step-by-step guide on how to do just that here. Creating a Restore Point is extremely necessary if you ever decide you want to go back from all the changes you made.
Another thing to keep in mind that, while the Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 tool makes things easier to tweak with a clean install, it’s still not necessarily meant for beginners, but for people who know what they’re doing to their system. Beginners can use this tool, but they should do some research before applying a tweak to their system. For instance, Ultimate Windows Tweaker will allow you to disable Cortana, but a beginner should understand that that means some system features that rely on Cortana will not continue to work. It’s very important to understand that cause and affect part of it.
Ultimate Windows Tweaker has a few different categories that provide just over 200 tweaks. Those are Customization, User Accounts, Performance, Security & Privacy, Internet Explorer, Context Menu, and Additional.
Tweaking something is as simple as checking a box and pressing the “Apply” button at the bottom right-hand corner of the software. It’s literally that simple! The difficult part is knowing what you’re doing to your system, which is why, as mentioned just a little bit ago, it’s a good practice to do your research on something before applying it.
In summary, Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 is a great way to tweak things without diving into the Registry or Group Policy Editor. It’ll let you disable different features and processes in a jiffy, ultimately freeing up more system resources, thus making your PC that much faster.
